Sondra Howell

With twenty years experience, Sondra Howell is a licensed interior designer who conceives timeless, authentic, and human centric spaces.

Sondra grew up on the edge of the Pacific in the seaside town of Cambria, California. A picturesque region, the rocky coastline and golden hills instilled an artistic spark in Sondra. With this context she pursued an interior design degree at the California College of the Arts (CCA) and the University of San Francisco (USF). Sondra’s education at CCA was marked by an immersive interdisciplinary approach to design. An emphasis on critical thinking, collaboration, research, and the traditional practice of craft defined her creative voice.

Sondra’s deeply detail oriented approach to design can be credited to her experienced background in both hospitality and contract interiors, having shaped her formative years at acclaimed global architecture firm Gensler.

A skilled watercolor artist, Sondra uses painting as a creative outlet that continually informs her design work. Working fluidly with watercolor sharpens her intuitive understanding of color, tone, and composition, allowing her to approach palettes in an innovative, expressive, and artful way. In 2019, she was named a finalist in the inaugural Hermès International scarf design competition, Le Grand Prix du Carré Hermès. This artistic practice carries into her interiors through vibrancy, layered textures, and sculptural moments.
